Wildlife watching
Step into a living sanctuary where nature is both memory and renewal. At Reserva Los Nogales, Wildlife Watching is more than an activity—it’s a quiet invitation to witness the resilience of life in a place that is healing.
In the 1990s, much of the local wildlife was lost due to overhunting, including white-tailed deer and other native mammals. But in the decades since, the forest has been slowly recovering. Through community care, reforestation, and a growing awareness of conservation, many species have returned—and continue to return.
Today, walking through the reserve, you may spot vibrant toucans and motmots, playful agoutis, or a sloth resting high in the canopy. Armadillos and opossums rustle in the underbrush, and fireflies light up the night. Frogs and insects sing in symphony, and birds greet the dawn with colors and songs from every corner of the trees.
Whether you're an experienced naturalist or a curious soul, our cloud forest offers endless moments of wonder. Bring your binoculars and your patience—nature reveals itself on its own time, and the experience is always worth the wait.
